John Britton's History and Description of Cassiobury Park, published in 1837, documents the development of Cassiobury House into a fashionable neo-Gothic mansion. The book incorporates engravings and aquatints from paintings by such artists as Augustus Pugin, JMW Turner, Henry Edridge and William Henry Hunt, all of whom were friends of George Capel Coningsby, the 5th Earl.
